Star of Indiana Beginning Band Program

The Star of Indiana Beginning Band program was started in 1995 in partnership with the Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC) to give young instrumental musicians a solid foundation in musical education and to encourage their love of music. The band offers ambitious fourth, fifth, and sixth graders in Monroe County schools the opportunity to start playing a musical instrument before regular musical instruction is available in school.

Nearly 100 area students participate in the program, which includes music instruction and opportunities to perform with the band in public appearances.

The Star of Indiana Beginning Band is for those students wishing to begin an interest in instrumental music.

Star of Indiana Advanced Band
The Star of Indiana Advanced Band is for those students who participated in the Star of Indiana beginning band program, advanced band program, jazz band, or those students who have had private lessons.

Star of Indiana Jazz Band
The Star of Indiana Jazz Band is for those students with prior experience in musical instrument performance who wish to begin an interest in jazz performance.
